What's a big, exciting goal you want for your health in 2024?

I invite you to slow down to carefully consider your goals, and I believe it is really important.

It is common to move fast and have days (and weeks) that feel overfull. We sleep in late and wake up tired to hurry out the door, rush to work, try to get through the work day only to try and get home as fast as possible, eat something quickly, and try to relax before bed.

Our minds and hearts are full and noisy with so many things. In this context, we are easily confused with ideas from all sorts of places we can confuse as our own authentic goals.

However, it is critically important to slow down and take a few moments to clarify the aspirations we want if we are to have any good chance at achieving them. Slow down, take some deep breathes, and listen within.

Even answering a few good questions honestly goes a long way:
- What do I really want, if I am being honest with myself?
- Why do I want that? So that I can ______.
- And why that? So that I can have _______.
- And again, why? So that I can finally experience _________.

Try it. Give yourself 5 uninterrupted minutes to answer those questions, and write down your answers. Look at them tomorrow. Does it still feel true? If so, congratulations. You likely have your goal to aim for.

And if not, that's fine too. Change your answers to what you now know to be true. Keep refining them until they feel right.
